Langon Sub-Prefect Visits Escoussans to Explore Local Heritage
Serge Delrieu toured local vineyards, historic sites, and traditions during his official visit on October 30.
The sub-prefect of Langon, Serge Delrieu, traveled to the commune of Escoussans on October 30 to tour its various cultural and agricultural landmarks. The official visit provided an opportunity for the state representative to experience the unique heritage and traditions of the region firsthand.
During his itinerary, Delrieu stopped at several notable locations across the municipality. His visits included the town hall school, the grape harvesters' house, Nicot Castle, Saint-Seurin Church, and the village manor, highlighting the rich history embedded within the local architecture.
In addition to historical architecture, the sub-prefect explored the agricultural strengths of the area. He learned about the Haut-Benauge wine appellation and engaged with local cultural traditions upheld by the cherry and wood pigeon fraternities.
The visit concluded with a traditional meal shared with ten guests inside a hunting lodge located within the Hayas woods. The gathering allowed the state representative to connect more deeply with community members and experience local customs in a natural setting.
Meanwhile, municipal updates from other regions highlight ongoing community concerns, such as structural issues in Montmorot where local officials are preparing disaster relief documentation following sudden property damage.
Residents in Montmorot recently reported the appearance of widening cracks in their homes since the summer months. Local leadership is actively gathering homeowner files to request official natural catastrophe recognition from regional authorities.
