Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan Voice Hindi Dub of Supernatural Thriller Obsession

Bollywood actors Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan have drawn widespread acclaim for their promotional work and voiceover contributions to the Hindi-dubbed version of the Hollywood supernatural thriller Obsession. Directed by Curry Barker, the film arrived on JioHotstar through The Peacock Hub on October 30 at 7:00 PM.

In the Hindi adaptation, Kriti Sanon provides the voice for the character Nikki, originally played by Inde Navarrette, while Varun Dhawan voices Bear, portrayed in the original English film by Michael Johnston. The project was brought together under the guidance of filmmaker Amar Kaushik.

Prior to the digital release, JioHotstar shared a promotional video featuring Kriti and Varun recreating an unsettling restaurant scene from the movie. The clip quickly captured the attention of viewers across social media platforms, with particular focus on Kriti's dramatic range and expressive performance.

Fans flooded social media with positive feedback regarding the promotional advertisement and the voice casting. Several users praised Kriti's acting abilities, with one noting that her versatility needs to be studied, while others expressed a desire to see her cast in more challenging and demanding roles in future Bollywood projects.

The original film follows a young man named Bear who holds romantic feelings for his childhood friend Nikki. In an attempt to win her affection after a night out, Bear uses a novelty occult gift known as a 'One-Wish Willow' to wish that Nikki loves him more than anyone else in the world.

The wish triggers a terrifying chain of events as an unexpected and sinister entity takes control of Nikki, transforming her affection into a dangerous obsession. As the narrative progresses, Bear realizes the grave consequences of his actions and attempts to reverse the spell.

The supernatural thriller concludes with a dramatic and tragic climax. After learning that the spell can only be undone through his death, Bear consumes medication to sacrifice his life, while Nikki ultimately manages to break free from the dark influence too late to save him.

The strong response to the promotional material has also fueled speculation and fan commentary regarding an Indian film adaptation of the property. While makers have not officially announced a local remake, viewers have shared enthusiasm for seeing the two lead actors star in an equivalent Hindi feature film version.
