Juventus returned to winning ways in Serie A on Sunday evening, securing a 2-0 victory away against Lecce at the Stadio Via del Mare. The Bianconeri bounced back from their previous 3-0 defeat against Lazio by establishing control early in the match, with first-half goals from Weston McKennie and Douglas Luiz delivering the decisive advantage.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 29th minute through a well-executed set piece. Teun Koopmeiners made a dummy run before Douglas Luiz delivered a precise cross into the penalty area, allowing McKennie to convert his first league goal of the season. Shortly before halftime, Douglas Luiz added a second with a strike from outside the box that beat goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone via the post, marking the midfielder's first competitive goal for the club.

Despite trailing by two goals, Lecce mounted a stronger challenge after the interval. Head coach Eusebio Di Francesco made tactical adjustments at halftime, bringing on Medon Monteiro and Dennis Siebert. The hosts increased their pressure and created scoring opportunities, including a close-range effort from Antonino Maleh in the 49th minute that was cleared off the line by Juventus defender Federico Gatti.

Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti expressed mixed feelings about his team's performance, praising the initial intensity while criticizing the drop in momentum during the second half. "The players played a very good game in terms of pace and playing openly," Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia. "We dropped off a bit in terms of our management in the second half and then everything became more difficult because we had less courage."

Spalletti also addressed the team's recent tactical shift, which involved deploying three central midfielders to bolster defensive stability following their recent struggles. Although the system provided solidity during the opening period, the coach noted that his squad became overly defensive as the match progressed, allowing Lecce to control more possession and force goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario into deeper build-up play.

Lecce manager Eusebio Di Francesco acknowledged the difficulties of the first half but praised his team's improved attitude after the break. "In the first half the Juve raised the quality of the game, they were better and we suffered because if you don't control the ball then you struggle," Di Francesco remarked. "We take the second-half performance to start again."

Late in stoppage time, Lecce defender Kialonda Gaspar was shown a red card for dissent following a frustration-filled conclusion to the match. With the victory, Juventus moves up to 14 points in the standings, while Lecce remains in mid-table with nine points. Looking ahead in the league calendar, Juventus will travel to face Genoa on Wednesday, October 28, while Lecce will visit Frosinone on Thursday, October 29.
