An eight-wicket victory in Vadodara caps a dominant clean sweep in both formats for the hosts.

India Women completed a comprehensive 3-0 sweep of their One-Day International series against Zimbabwe on Wednesday, securing an eight-wicket victory at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara. Left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma spearheaded the bowling attack with a five-wicket haul, after which aggressive half-centuries from Pratika Rawal and Shafali Verma propelled the hosts across the finish line in just 17 overs.

The final contest of the tour offered squad rotation opportunities for India, who had already locked up the series title following back-to-back victories. The hosts made three changes to their playing lineup for the finale, recalling Kranti Gaud alongside batter Harleen Deol and wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia. Indian captain Smriti Mandhana noted that the match provided an ideal platform for players like Bhatia and Deol to gain valuable time in the middle as the team kicked off its ODI Championship campaign ahead of the upcoming Women's ODI World Cup.

Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat first, but their top order immediately faltered against India's disciplined bowling unit. Sayali Satghare struck in the second over by snaring Loryn Phiri, while Gaud quickly removed Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano to leave the visitors reeling early. Opener Modester Mupachikwa attempted to anchor Zimbabwe's innings, resisting India's attack to post a team-high 37 runs from 48 deliveries.

The momentum swung decisively toward India when Bhatia made an impact behind the stumps. As Mupachikwa advanced down the track to attack a wide, flighted delivery from Sharma, Bhatia cleanly gathered the ball and whipped off the bails to break a 27-run stand. Zimbabwe captain Josephine Nkomo and Chiedza Dhururu mounted a brief 43-run counterattack, but Sharma dismantled the lower order to finish with figures of 5 for 39. Zimbabwe was bowled out for 131 in 39.5 overs when Bhatia collected a throw from Jintimani Kalita to run out Nomvelo Sibanda.

Chasing a target of 132, India handed Bhatia an elevated batting assignment by sending the left-hander out to open alongside Rawal. The experiment hit an immediate roadblock when Bhatia fell on the very first delivery of the chase. Attempting a cross-batted strike off Sibanda, she mistimed the ball and was caught by Francisca Chipare at mid-on, departing for a first-ball duck. Deol joined Rawal shortly after, contributing 19 runs off 19 deliveries before being dismissed by Phiri.

Despite the early wickets, India never lost command of the chase thanks to an unbroken partnership between Rawal and Verma. Rawal maintained her sensational form from earlier in the tour, compiling an unbeaten 59 off 56 balls to register her tenth career ODI half-century. She had previously posted a century and 61 in the first two matches of the series, anchoring India's top order throughout the bilateral contest.

At the other end, Verma unleashed an aggressive counter-assault, smashing an unbeaten 51 from 26 balls. Sources slightly differed on her ball count, with one agency feed listing 27 deliveries, but both confirmed her dominant strike rate. The pair assembled an explosive 74-run stand that brought the contest to a swift end. Verma capped the chase in style during the 17th over, stepping out against Olinder Chare to launch a flighted delivery over the bowler's head for six, simultaneously sealing her half-century and the match.

The eight-wicket win concluded a thoroughly dominant tour for India, who had also swept Zimbabwe 3-0 in the preceding Twenty20 International series. Mandhana praised the execution of the bowling group for restricting the visitors under 140 runs and lauded Sharma's maiden five-wicket performance, stating the three victories represented a great start to India's World Cup preparation.
