Professional football club Incheon United FC is preparing for a busy stretch of competition as it enters the K League 1 Final A schedule and hosts the international youth tournament. Following a dramatic victory over Jeju SK in the regular-season finale, Incheon secured a spot in Final A and will begin its remaining matches next month.

The opening match of Final A will take place at Seoul World Cup Stadium, where Incheon will face FC Seoul. This fixture marks the first head-to-head meeting between the two clubs since FC Seoul received disciplinary action from the professional football federation regarding an offensive banner that disparaged the city of Incheon during a match earlier in the season. According to local officials, an apology banner is expected to be displayed at the Seoul home ground during the game.

Having achieved promotion to the top tier, Incheon will compete across five matches in the Final A round with hopes of securing qualification for the Asian Football Confederation Champions League. The team's remaining fixtures include matches against Daejeon Hana Citizen, Ulsan HD, Gangwon FC, and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

In addition to the senior squad's campaign, the club's youth setup is currently active on the tournament stage. The K League International Youth Cup Incheon 2026 officially kicked off with 12 participating teams divided into two groups. Incheon United's U-18 team, representing Daegun High School, has been placed in Group B alongside foreign clubs such as Racing Santander and Sydney FC, as well as domestic sides Pohang Steelers and Gwangju FC.

Incheon U-18 enters the youth tournament carrying strong momentum after capturing titles at the 2026 National High School Football King of Kings Championship and the 107th National Sports Festival. Despite a demanding schedule and a roster composed largely of first- and second-year players along with incoming middle school students, head-to-head competition against high-level international academies remains a primary objective.

"A younger team getting to face a good side is a great opportunity and a valuable stepping stone to dream bigger," said U-18 head coach Lee Sung-gyu. The tournament matches are being held across various venues in Incheon, including the Songdo LNG Sports Town and Namdong Asiad Rugby Stadium, with the final scheduled to take place at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, city administrative support for the sports infrastructure continues alongside the team's ongoing matches. The Incheon Metropolitan Government's budget allocation for the upcoming fiscal year includes specific operational funding for Incheon United FC, supporting the club's presence in the local community and its continued development across both professional and youth levels.
