Tickets for 'The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping' officially went on sale this week, building anticipation for the latest installment in the dystopian film franchise. Based on the Suzanne Collins novel of the same name, the prequel film follows a young Haymitch Abernathy through his journey as a tribute in the Second Quarter Quell during the 50th Hunger Games.

The upcoming movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on November 20, 2026. The cast for 'Sunrise on the Reaping' features Joseph Zada and Mckenna Grace alongside Ralph Fiennes, Jesse Plemons, Maya Hawke, and Elle Fanning. Additionally, franchise veterans Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Woody Harrelson are confirmed to return in a flash-forward appearance.

Ahead of the theatrical release, fans looking to revisit the saga can now stream all previous 'Hunger Games' movies on Disney+ and Hulu, following their recent departure from Netflix. The collection includes the original four films starring Lawrence and Hutcherson—'The Hunger Games' (2012), 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' (2013), 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1' (2014), and 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2' (2015)—as well as the 2023 prequel, 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes'.

In related franchise developments, actor Ben Wang, who stars in the upcoming prequel, has also reportedly been selected by Marvel Studios to portray Iceman in the forthcoming 'X-Men' movie reboot. While he has not yet officially signed his contract, reports indicate he is the primary choice for the role in the film, which is directed by Jake Schreier and slated for a May 5, 2028, theatrical release.

Wang's casting aligns with Marvel's broader strategy for the 'X-Men' reboot, which focuses on utilizing fresh faces and emerging stars rather than established A-listers. His expanding resume includes starring roles in 'The Long Walk', 'Karate Kid: Legends', and the 'Mean Girls' stage musical movie adaptation, further elevating his profile as he prepares to enter the Panem universe.
