Gimnasia secured its qualification for the upcoming playoffs of the Torneo Clausura following a 2-1 victory against the already-relegated Estudiantes de Río Cuarto. The match kicked off the 15th round of the tournament, bringing the regular phase closer to its conclusion before the decisive knockout stages.

The standout player of the match was Ignacio Fernández, who received the highest rating of the night. Operating with too much freedom in the midfield during the first half, Fernández dictated the pace of the game, provided key assists, recovered possession, and scored the team's second goal to cement his role as a crucial pillar of the squad.

Despite the victory, Gimnasia faced disciplinary issues during the encounter. Alexis Steimbach received a red card, forcing his team to play with ten men for 35 minutes. The ejection added pressure to the visitors, though they managed to hold onto their advantage until the final whistle.

Referee Juan Pablo Loustau oversaw the proceedings without major complications. He made two significant decisions during the night, issuing red cards to Steimbach and Antonini, both of which were deemed correct. Furthermore, the officiating crew utilized the video assistant referee system to successfully overturn a potential penalty call for the home side.

The first half proved comfortable for Gimnasia, with the team capitalizing on the opponent's lack of presence in central areas. In addition to Fernández's stellar display, goalkeeper Harlen Castillo made a crucial save against Alaniz in the opening period to maintain the lead, despite showing some hesitation on crosses.

Defensively, Germán Conti and Enzo Martínez anchored the backline, successfully neutralizing aerial threats, though minor lapses in concentration late in the game allowed some dangerous moments. Marcelo Torres also contributed crucially by scoring the decisive second goal that effectively sealed the match.

With this result, Gimnasia secured its advancement into the single-elimination playoffs of the Torneo Clausura. The final rounds of the regular phase will conclude shortly before teams transition into the knockout brackets and the determination of the league champion based on the annual standings.
