France 3 Wins Thursday Primetime Ratings With Mont-Saint-Michel Mystery
The television broadcast secured the top spot in viewership, outperforming programs on France 2, TF1, and M6.
France 3 secured the leading position in Thursday night primetime television ratings on October 29, 2026, driven by the rebroadcast of the detective fiction television film "Meurtres au Mont-Saint-Michel." The mystery feature, which stars Anthony Delon alongside Juliet Lemonnier and Catherine Marchal, captured the attention of 2.48 million viewers, translating to a 15.9 percent audience share.
When the television movie originally premiered in January 2022, it drew a significantly larger audience of 5.05 million people, representing a 25.3 percent share. Despite the drop from its initial release, the rerun successfully maintained France 3's strong weekly performance, mirroring the network's success from the previous week when another mystery rerun claimed the top spot.
France 2 climbed to the second position for the evening with its investigative news magazine "Envoyé spécial," hosted by Élise Lucet. The program featured reports on nuclear submarines, American flea markets, and historic events, attracting 1.80 million viewers and achieving a 12.1 percent market share. This marked a notable improvement for the network compared to the previous week, when the program ranked fifth.
TF1 experienced a setback, finishing the night in third place with the broadcast of the American blockbuster film "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire," starring Paul Rudd and Finn Wolfhard. The feature film drew 1.68 million movie enthusiasts, resulting in an 11.6 percent audience share, which marked a decline of approximately 700,000 viewers compared to the network's performance the prior week.
Despite placing third in overall viewership, TF1 achieved commercial success by securing the leadership position among key target demographics. The network captured 25.0 percent of female shoppers under the age of fifty, proving strong appeal for advertisers within that crucial market segment.
M6 rounded out the major network rankings with the second episode of its reality competition game show, "Wanted: Catch Me If You Can." The nationwide chase program, which pits celebrity fugitives against designated guardians, drew 1.55 million viewers during its first part and 1.41 million viewers in its second segment, representing a decrease from its series launch the prior week.
Among smaller channels, W9 performed strongly with its talk show format "Y'a que la vérité qui compte," presented by Pascal Bataille and Laurent Fontaine. The broadcast attracted 713,000 individuals, delivering a 4.6 percent audience share and marking the program's best performance in overall viewership since moving to the network.
