FC Bayern Munich confirmed that attacking players Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry will be sidelined for the foreseeable future following injuries sustained during Saturday evening's 2-2 Bundesliga draw against Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena. The hard-fought match concluded in a share of the spoils, allowing the Bavarian giants to maintain their position at the top of the league standings, but it came at a high cost for the squad.

Saibari suffered a tear to the syndesmotic ligament in his right ankle during a challenge with Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. The 25-year-old Moroccan international has already undergone successful surgery to address the issue. Meanwhile, Gnabry picked up a muscle injury in his left hamstring during the same encounter. Both players are expected to spend several weeks or months in the treatment room.

Managing director for sport Max Eberl addressed the mounting physical toll on the team following the match, stating, "To be honest, it feels a bit intense, what is happening around us." The late equalizer from Dortmund's Fabio Silva sealed the draw, adding further frustration to a challenging period for the club.

The latest injuries deepen an ongoing personnel crisis for Bayern. Head coach Vincent Kompany continues to recover at home from brain membrane irritation, while Jamal Musiala, Luis Díaz, and Manuel Neuer are also sidelined. Additionally, Michael Olise requested a substitution during the second half of the Dortmund match, leaving the club's offensive options severely depleted.

With Luis Díaz out until late November with a torn muscle bundle, Saibari unavailable until at least February, and Gnabry sidelined until December, Bayern faces a difficult stretch in the coming weeks. Jamal Musiala is expected to return to the squad soon, though he will miss Tuesday's upcoming Champions League clash against Atlético Madrid in the Spanish capital.

Looking ahead to the winter transfer window, club leadership faces a dilemma regarding whether to seek temporary reinforcements. Jan-Christian Dreesen noted that January additions are typically avoided in Munich unless perfect conditions arise. Nonetheless, the recruitment team must weigh whether precautionary moves are necessary to bolster the squad for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
