The men's and women's cricket competitions at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya concluded with India successfully defending its gold medals. Following a clean sweep at the previous games in Hangzhou in 2023, the Indian teams once again dominated the regional multi-sport event.

In the men's final held at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, India posted a formidable total after opting to bat first. Opening batter Abhishek Sharma led the early charge with an aggressive 61 runs off 28 balls, helping India accumulate 81 runs during the initial powerplay overs. Despite a resilient bowling comeback by Pakistan spinners in the middle phase, Tilak Varma delivered a quickfire half-century at the death to push India's total further.

Pakistan mounted a fierce chase led by Hasan Nawaz, whose stellar innings kept his team competitive until the final over. Nawaz scored 96 runs before being dismissed off the last ball of the match by Shivam Dube. Despite a crucial 87-run partnership with Saim Ayub and late contributions from Saad Masood, Pakistan fell short as India secured a 19-run victory to claim the gold medal.

Reflecting on the dramatic finish, the final wicket came when Nawaz attempted a hook shot off a slower delivery from Dube, resulting in a catch by wicketkeeper Sanju Samson. Pakistan was forced to settle for the silver medal, marking an improvement over their fourth-place finish in the previous edition of the games.

Meanwhile, the bronze medal match featured a remarkable turnaround by Sri Lanka against Bangladesh. After losing four wickets for just 21 runs inside the first four overs, Sri Lanka recovered thanks to a 93-run partnership between Tharindu Ratnayake and Sahan Arachchige. Ratnayake smashed 65 runs off 32 balls, while captain Arachchige added 33 runs to help post a competitive total of 165/9 in their 20 overs.

Bangladesh's run chase collapsed early as their top three batters were dismissed for ducks. Despite a resistance effort from Nasum Ahmed, who scored 26 runs, Bangladesh was eventually bowled out for 102 in 17.3 overs. The 63-run victory earned Sri Lanka the bronze medal, completing a strong tournament performance that also included a silver medal by their women's team.
