Como Faces RC Lens in UEFA Champions League Match

Como will face RC Lens at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens Agglo for a crucial UEFA Champions League fixture. Managed by Cesc Fabregas, Como enters the match looking to maintain its surprising momentum during its first-ever appearance in Europe's premier club competition.

The Italian club has made a strong impression in the tournament thus far, securing notable home victories against RB Leipzig and Manchester United by identical 4-1 scorelines. However, their only away fixture resulted in a 3-2 defeat at Feyenoord. Overall, Como arrives in France riding a five-match winning streak across all competitions.

Fabregas's squad faces several roster challenges for the trip, missing players such as Moise Kean, Trevoh Chalobah, Assane Diao, Jesus Rodriguez, and Jayden Addai due to various absences. Despite these setbacks, Tasos Douvikas leads the attack as a primary striking option, supported in advanced roles by Nico Paz, Maxence Caqueret, and Lucas Da Cunha, while Maxi Perrone and Luis Milla anchor the midfield.

On the opposing side, RC Lens is aiming to steady its European campaign after opening the tournament with a 3-2 away victory against Slavia Prague, followed by consecutive losses to Sporting CP and Club Brugge. Domestically, Lens sits ninth in the Ligue 1 standings following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Lille over the weekend.

Lens features several experienced players in its lineup, including former Udinese striker Florian Thauvin and ex-Venezia midfielder Michael Cuisance. Managerial choices also highlight the talents of Croatia international Franjo Ivanovic leading the center-forward position, even as the team deals with long-term absences from key squad members like Odsonne Edouard and Abdallah Sima.

The fixture is scheduled to kick off at 20.00 GMT, with the Norwegian referee Saggi officiating the encounter. Both teams are looking to secure vital points in the league phase standings as the tournament approaches its midway point.
