AC Milan fell to a decisive 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Thursday evening during the third round of the Europa League league phase. The English side controlled the match from the opening whistle, taking advantage of a chaotic first half that saw Milan concede two penalties and lose their captain and starting goalkeeper to a red card.

The home side opened the scoring in the eighth minute after a VAR review awarded a penalty for a handball against Milan defender Koni De Winter. Justin Kluivert stepped up and converted the spot-kick to give Bournemouth an early lead, setting the tone for a difficult night for the visiting Italian team.

Things deteriorated further for Milan in the 27th minute when French goalkeeper Mike Maignan received a straight red card. The referee dismissed the captain after he shoved Tyler Adams during the setup for a corner kick. The resulting second penalty was successfully converted by Marcus Tavernier in the 32nd minute, doubling Bournemouth's advantage to 2-0 before halftime.

Playing with ten men for the remainder of the contest, Milan struggled to mount any meaningful offensive pressure against a disciplined opponent. Manager Ruben Amorim attempted tactical adjustments, but the Rossoneri remained thoroughly contained by Marco Rose's side throughout the second half.

Amine Adli sealed the victory for Bournemouth in the 84th minute with a brilliant performance. The Moroccan player curled a precise free kick past the defensive wall and beyond the reach of the substitute goalkeeper, making it 3-0 and capping off a historic European night for the English club.

The resounding victory lifts Bournemouth to nine points from a perfect three wins in the competition, placing them comfortably in third place in the league phase standings. Meanwhile, the defeat leaves Milan stuck on three points in 24th place, mounting pressure on Amorim and his squad as they navigate their European campaign.
