Blizzard Increases Class Power Ahead of World of Warcraft: Forever Launch

Developers boost damage output across all classes and adjust high-level creature health following beta testing feedback.

Blizzard Entertainment has rolled out a final round of balance adjustments and fixes for World of Warcraft: Forever ahead of its scheduled global launch. The headline adjustment features a significant boost to damage output across every class, accompanied by a corresponding increase in the health of high-level creatures to maintain overall balance.

According to patch notes published on the official World of Warcraft forums, the development team determined that adhering strictly to the original game's power budgets created restrictive design limitations. Developers noted that every new element previously required sacrifices elsewhere, which caused iconic abilities to feel underwhelming.

By raising damage output across the board, the development team created additional headroom to tune gameplay experiences. The developer stated that this adjustment aims to ensure every class feels valuable in group settings while delivering memorable moments through player mastery, rather than achieving absolute numerical equality.

Alongside the broad damage increases, the final update introduces specific tuning adjustments for a variety of classes and specializations. Blizzard clarified that these changes are designed to differentiate the new retro-inspired experience from early expansions such as The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King.

Following the deployment of these changes, the development team plans to leave class balance untouched until the game's initial raids open on December 9. A comprehensive tuning pass will then take place, utilizing data gathered from live servers as players progress past the level 30 cap established during the beta phase.

In addition to class adjustments, the patch notes detail updates intended to support high player volumes at launch. Low-level zones will feature increased creature respawn rates to accommodate crowding, and the official gamepad support has received substantial updates to deliver a fully functional controller experience.

World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on November 4, presenting players with a reimagined version of the original 2004 game featuring expanded continents, new quests, and modern quality-of-life systems.
