Amitabh Bachchan Steps Back From Social Media Following Medical Rest Advice
The Bollywood superstar announced he must temporarily pause online communication as he recovers under strict medical instructions.
Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has stepped away from his usual social media engagement after receiving medical advice to take a strict break and rest. The 84-year-old actor shared the news on Wednesday, October 21, informing his followers across digital platforms that he would be temporarily unable to write or communicate.
Known for regularly connecting with his global audience through his personal blog and online posts, Bachchan posted an update on X, formerly Twitter, asking for understanding. "Apologies. I beg your forgiveness; I've been advised to take some time off for a few days to rest and recuperate, so I'm not able to write anything," the actor wrote.
In a separate message shared on his personal blog, the veteran actor extended his Dussehra greetings to his followers while confirming his health status. He stated that he was under strict instructions to rest and recover, noting that he was not permitted to communicate during this period.
Bachchan also addressed those who had sent personal well-wishes, asking them to accept his public statement as a direct response. He expressed hope that he would eventually be able to return to his usual routine of engaging with fans once his recovery period concludes.
Supporters quickly flooded social media with get-well messages, offering words of encouragement and urging the beloved actor to prioritize his health over online updates. Many fans responded by telling him not to apologize for taking necessary time off.
Earlier in the month, Bachchan mentioned on an episode of the television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 that he had injured his left knee after a fall during a shoot, which caused him difficulty standing during his opening monologues. However, neither the actor nor medical sources have explicitly confirmed whether the knee injury is connected to his current requirement for strict rest.
