Vietnam Weather Update: Sunny Days Ahead for Most Regions Before Cold Front Arrives
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reports sunny conditions across the country with rising temperatures, while northern regions prepare for incoming cold air masses.
Weather patterns across various regions feature daytime sunshine accompanied by high temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees Celsius in the south, while northern provinces brace for upcoming cold fronts.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, northern Vietnam will experience sunny days followed by scattered showers and thunderstorms during the evening and night. Forecasters indicate that northern areas could encounter two consecutive cold air masses bringing rain and thunderstorms, with temperatures expected to drop and turn cold in mountainous regions by early next week.
While northern regions prepare for the weather shift, other parts of the country generally enjoy sunny daytime conditions. The southern region experiences strong sunshine intensities with daytime highs ranging from 31 to 34 degrees Celsius, alongside late afternoon and evening scattered showers and thunderstorms in certain areas.
Meteorological analysts explain that a northern cold air mass has weakened and shifted eastward, allowing a new low-pressure trough to form. The northern region currently remains under the influence of a weakening continental high-pressure edge, providing pleasant early morning and nighttime conditions before daytime temperatures increase.
Central regions spanning from Thanh Hoa to Hue, as well as the South Central Coast, experience stable weather without significant rainfall disturbances. These areas feature isolated nighttime showers and thunderstorms, while daytime hours remain clear and sunny.
In the Central Highlands and southern provinces, a weak equatorial low-pressure trough keeps rainfall minimal. The Central Highlands maintains chilly conditions during the night and early morning due to geographical elevations, whereas daytime temperatures rise steadily under sunny skies.
Weather authorities advise residents across regions prone to afternoon and evening thunderstorms to remain cautious. Storms may occasionally bring hazardous weather elements such as tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
