The Woodlands High School and nearby administrative offices for Lone Star College were placed under emergency lockdowns on Wednesday afternoon following a phone threat received at the high school. Law enforcement agencies quickly responded to secure the campus and investigate the situation.

According to the Conroe Independent School District, the high school went into lockdown after an unknown individual made a threat over the telephone. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies rushed to the school grounds to ensure the safety of students and staff members.

Shortly after the initial police response, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also arrived at the high school campus. Authorities have not yet released specific details regarding the exact nature of the telephone threat.

At the same time, the Lone Star College Police Department issued an emergency lockdown alert for its system offices located in The Woodlands, which are situated approximately ten minutes away from the high school by car. College officials stated that their facility was locked down out of an abundance of caution in response to the nearby high school threat.

During the height of the emergency, the university police department instructed individuals inside the administrative building to move to the nearest room, lock the door, and remain silent while the situation unfolded. Officials initially noted that it was unclear if both security incidents were directly connected, though college representatives later confirmed their lockdown was tied to the high school threat.

Law enforcement and school district officials have maintained an active presence at both locations as the investigation continues. As of the latest updates from the scene, authorities have not confirmed any reports of injuries resulting from the emergency closures.
