Verona and Franjo Pooth have been one of Germany's most prominent celebrity couples for over two decades. Their shared history began in the year 2000 in an unexpected environment far from home: the high-speed and glamorous Formula 1 racing track in Silverstone, United Kingdom.

At the time, Verona was known by her maiden name, Feldbusch, and was working at the racing event as a reporter for the television network RTL. There, she crossed paths with Franjo Pooth, who was largely unknown to the public back then. What started as a chance encounter quickly blossomed into romance as the two fell in love.

Following their meeting in Silverstone, Verona traveled to London with a friend, where Franjo was studying at the time. For their first official date, he organized a table at a well-known local jazz club. However, the atmosphere proved less than ideal for a first date, as the tables featured signs demanding silence.

The couple quickly relocated to Chinatown to salvage the evening. Franjo later recalled in an interview that Verona ate a large amount of Peking duck during the outing. Another lighthearted memory from the night involved Verona's corset dress reportedly bursting open during dinner.

Despite the bumpy start, the chance meeting blossomed into a lasting family life. In 2003, the couple welcomed their first son, San Diego. They legally married the following year in the city of San Diego, California, before holding a traditional church wedding a year later at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. Their family expanded further with the birth of their second son, Rocco, in 2011.
