Priscilla Presley made a rare public appearance alongside her son, Navarone Garibaldi Garcia, in Baesweiler, Germany. The 81-year-old actress and her 39-year-old son visited the German town so Presley could sign the local golden book, a guest registry reserved for notable visitors, and participate in a public question-and-answer session regarding her life with her ex-husband, Elvis Presley.
During the event, Presley addressed the audience, expressing her enthusiasm for the evening. "I look forward to a wonderful evening with all of you, so with warm regards, thank you," she told the crowd before introducing her son. Navarone then took the microphone to share his appreciation for the audience, stating that he was simply happy to travel with his mother and noting the kindness they received.
The mother-and-son outing highlights a strong familial bond following years of adversity, particularly Navarone's hard-fought battle with substance addiction. Presley previously opened up about supporting her son through severe withdrawal symptoms, recalling how she stayed by his side and massaged his legs while he underwent detoxification. After multiple attempts at rehabilitation and a difficult relapse, Navarone ultimately committed to his sobriety with his mother's continuous assistance.
Reflecting on the grueling recovery process, Presley noted that her son has remained sober and is currently in a positive place in his life. "He's been sober ever since, so I'm really happy for him," she shared. "He's in a good place. We made it… It took a long time, but Navarone was ready. I got lucky."
Navarone, a musician, recently drew public attention over the summer when he launched a crowdfunding campaign to help finance an organic pizza business operated from his driveway in Los Angeles. While the effort prompted some public criticism questioning why he did not turn to his famous family for financial support, he defended his independence on social media and explained to media outlets that he prefers to manage his own financial responsibilities rather than rely on his mother for every endeavor.
Priscilla Presley shares Navarone with her former partner Marco Garibaldi, with whom she ended a relationship in 2006 after more than two decades together. She also shared a daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, with Elvis Presley. Lisa Marie passed away in 2023 at the age of 54.
