Team India Secures First Win at Hong Kong Sixes

The Indian cricket team secured its first victory at the Hong Kong Sixes by defeating Bangladesh by five wickets on the final delivery of the match at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok.

After suffering three consecutive defeats earlier in the tournament against Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and England, the Indian squad bounced back to finish the competition in eleventh place among the 12 participating teams.

Having won the toss, India elected to field first. Bangladesh posted a total of 116 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted six overs, driven by an unbeaten 62-run knock off 18 balls from captain Abu Hider Rony, which included eight sixes and three fours.

Krunal Pandya led the Indian bowling attack effectively, claiming three wickets while conceding 25 runs in his two overs, while Rahul Tripathi chipped in with one dismissal.

In response, India successfully chased down the 117-run target on the very last ball of the innings. Shashank Singh contributed significantly to the run chase by smashing 50 runs from just 15 deliveries, featuring seven sixes and one four before retiring hurt.

Additional contributions came from Rahul Tripathi, who added 32 runs off 12 balls, Rahul Tewatia with an unbeaten 16 runs off five deliveries, and Nitish Rana, who finished not out with 10 runs.

Krunal Pandya was named Player of the Match for his strong all-around performance following the thrilling last-ball finish against Bangladesh.
