Sukhjit S. Pasricha Resigns as Jindal Steel HR Head After Three Months
The senior human resources executive stepped down from his role citing personal commitments, concluding his brief tenure on October 31, 2026.
Sukhjit S. Pasricha, President and Head of Human Resources at Jindal Steel, has officially resigned from his position after serving in the role for less than three months. The corporate departure was formally communicated to stock exchanges through a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI regulations, as reported by industry sources.
The regulatory filing, which classified Pasricha as Senior Management Personnel, was signed by Damodar Mittal, Whole-time Director of Jindal Steel. According to the company disclosures, Pasricha pointed to personal commitments as the primary driver behind his decision to leave the organization. His final day of service concluded at the close of business hours on October 31, 2026.
In his formal resignation letter addressed to the company's Managing Director, Pasricha expressed his appreciation for the trust and confidence placed in him throughout his brief tenure. Describing his association with Jindal Steel as a professional privilege, he also acknowledged the ongoing support provided by the Board of Directors and his fellow colleagues across the enterprise.
Furthermore, Pasricha assured the executive management team that he would facilitate a seamless transition and committed to conducting an orderly handover of his daily responsibilities before his departure. As of the regulatory filing, Jindal Steel has not named a successor, leaving open the question of who will permanently or temporarily step into the vacant leadership position.
Pasricha originally assumed the role at Jindal Steel in July 2026, joining the senior leadership team to oversee the company's human resources operations. Prior to this brief stint, he held the position of Group Chief Human Resources Officer at IndiGo, bringing a substantial background in corporate leadership to the steel manufacturer.
His career spans more than 28 years of professional experience across diverse sectors, including aviation, banking, telecommunications, and financial services. Over the decades, Pasricha has held senior human resources positions at several prominent organizations, including Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bharti Airtel, and Bajaj Finserv.
Academically, Pasricha earned a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Sociology from Panjab University. He followed this with a Master of Business Administration degree specializing in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Guru Nanak Dev University.
Jindal Steel has not yet indicated whether Pasricha's departure will trigger a wider restructuring of its human resources leadership team. The regulatory filing similarly omitted any mention of potential impacts on the company's ongoing workforce planning, recruitment strategies, compensation structures, or employee benefits, noting that any future executive appointments will be subject to subsequent corporate announcements.
