Pakistan was bowled out for just 110 runs in 25.3 overs against Sri Lanka during the fifth match of the tri-nation ODI series at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday. The sub-par total set the visiting Sri Lankan squad a target of 111 runs to secure a victory.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first, a decision that immediately paid off as their bowling attack tore through the home team's top order. Pakistan suffered a dismal start when opening batsman Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for five runs in the fourth over by Dilshan Madushanka.

The pressure mounted further when Asitha Fernando removed Maaz Sadaqat for eight runs. Saad Baig followed shortly after for five runs, leaving the hosts struggling at 23-2 and quickly deteriorating as regular wickets tumbled throughout the innings.

Babar Azam attempted to stabilize the innings, top-scoring for Pakistan with 29 runs off 33 deliveries, which included five boundaries. He partnered with Salman Ali Agha to build a brief resistance, but Agha fell for nine runs to Sahan Arachchige, halting the momentum.

Pakistan continued to lose ground as Babar was dismissed by Eshan Malinga. Lower-order contributions came from Hasan Nawaz with 17 runs, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi with 15, and Arafat Minhas with 10, but no other batter managed to reach double figures.

Dilshan Madushanka spearheaded the Sri Lankan bowling performance with an impressive five-wicket haul, conceding 34 runs in 8.3 overs, which included one maiden. Sahan Arachchige supported him effectively by picking up two wickets.

Additional breakthroughs came from Asitha Fernando, Eshan Malinga, and Dunith Wellalage, who each claimed a single wicket to wrap up the Pakistani innings in the 26th over. Eshan Malinga proved particularly economical, giving up only eight runs across four overs.

Entering the match, Pakistan had already secured their place in the tournament's final following a thrilling one-wicket victory over England, driven by Shadab Khan's century. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka entered the fixture aiming for a win to guarantee their own spot in the final round.
