The Spanish national football team is gearing up for its final group stage fixtures in the Nations League, with upcoming matches scheduled against the Czech Republic and England. Having already secured mathematical qualification for the next round following a strong run of victories, the squad's primary objective is now to clinch first place in the group.

Head coach Luis de la Fuente announced his 27-player squad during a press conference at the Metropolitano stadium. Among the notable inclusions in the roster is Jacobo Ramón, with the manager stating that "Jacobo is doing a tremendous job and we believe it is the right time to see him." The squad also features Valles as a fourth goalkeeper due to David Raya handling personal matters, alongside midfielders such as Marc Roca and Martín Zubimendi.

Reflecting on the team's depth and competitive edge, De la Fuente praised the nation's talent pool. "For me, we have the best defensive midfielders in the world in Zubimendi and Rodri, and we can also incorporate great players like Marc Roca," he noted. He added that no player will exceed 180 minutes of playing time across the two demanding fixtures.

The decisive clash for the group leadership is widely anticipated to be the match against England at the Metropolitano. De la Fuente expressed excitement for the atmosphere, recalling past matches where fans strongly supported the squad. "I imagine it will be a match with an exceptional atmosphere," he said, while emphasizing the importance of first delivering a strong performance against the Czech Republic.

Spanish football is currently experiencing a flourishing period, drawing frequent comparisons to the golden generation that dominated international competitions between 2008 and 2012. Following recent tournament successes, the reigning European champions are eager to add another Nations League trophy to their resume, having previously triumphed in the competition in 2023.

Looking forward, the national team remains focused on maintaining its winning momentum. Bookmakers currently view Spain as a leading candidate to reach the final and lift the trophy, reflecting the high expectations generated by the squad's recent performances under the guidance of De la Fuente, who was recently honored as the best coach of the year.
