Sarah Ferguson Resurfaces in London Amid Ongoing Investigations

The former Duchess of York returned to the British capital for a memorial service as her ex-husband, Andrew, faces fresh inquiries.

Sarah Ferguson reappeared in public in London for the first time in months on Thursday, attending a memorial service alongside her daughters. The 67-year-old former Duchess of York was photographed at St. Paul's Church in Knightsbridge for a service honoring her former partner, racing tycoon Paddy McNally, who passed away at the age of 88.

Ferguson arrived accompanied by Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and their husbands, presenting a composed demeanor as she faced photographers. Her attendance marked a significant return to British soil following an extended period largely spent overseas in places like Switzerland and Austria after losing her official titles and stepping back from public life.

The timing of her reappearance coincided with renewed scrutiny surrounding her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Police Scotland confirmed that they are conducting preliminary inquiries regarding Andrew's past stay at Balmoral alongside convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. This follows an earlier arrest in February 2026 under suspicion of misconduct in public office concerning allegations that Andrew shared sensitive information with Epstein while serving as a British trade envoy.

Andrew, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has not been charged in connection with the new Scottish inquiries, was previously ordered to vacate Royal Lodge in Windsor. He now resides at Marsh Farm on the King's Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Reports indicate that relations between Andrew and Ferguson have cooled significantly in the wake of the Epstein fallout, with sources noting that she does not reside with him.

During her time away from the public eye, Ferguson spent months residing at properties linked to McNally, whom she dated during the 1980s before maintaining a lifelong friendship. Speculation has circulated regarding whether McNally, whose fortune was estimated at $800 million, included her in his will, though a source close to Ferguson stated they had no knowledge of any expected inheritance.

Ferguson's return to the United Kingdom appears permanent, with reports placing her in a gated six-bedroom property in the Home Counties. While royal experts debate whether she will attempt a full public comeback through media projects or business initiatives, her recent appearance with her daughters demonstrates that her close familial bonds remain intact despite the ongoing controversies.
