In Buenos Aires, a violent incident involving a group of approximately 60 men targeting transgender sex workers in the Palermo Woods has drawn widespread condemnation. The attack, which occurred between the night of Sunday, November 1, and the early hours of Monday, November 2, involved the use of sticks, stones, and traffic cones. The perpetrators reportedly recorded the assaults and shared them on social media, mocking the victims. This event took place just days before the 35th Pride March in the city.

Prominent Argentine figures, including artist Lizy Tagliani, have publicly denounced the violence. Tagliani, who shared her own history of facing prejudice, stated, "Living is a right; everyone lives as they can, want, or are allowed to." She recounted her personal experiences growing up in the Buenos Aires suburbs, where she faced constant threats and harassment. Tagliani emphasized that it is unacceptable for people to treat the lives of others as a game, expressing shock that such violence continues to persist in the current era.

In Spain, the high-speed rail line connecting Madrid and Barcelona experienced significant delays on Thursday due to a structural defect. Rail operator Adif reported a small depression in the tracks between the towns of Medinaceli and Ariza, which necessitated a temporary speed restriction for safety reasons. Maintenance crews were dispatched to the site, and officials indicated that the situation began to normalize shortly after the repairs were initiated.

This rail disruption marks the second consecutive day of operational challenges for the busy route. On Wednesday, the service faced major delays caused by the theft of copper cabling between Gualba and Plasencia de Jalón. These incidents follow a separate event last month involving an engine fire on a train, which forced a reorganization of schedules and frequencies. The accumulation of infrastructure failures, theft, and mechanical issues has caused widespread frustration among commuters.

In the world of sports, the Portuguese Football Federation has officially acknowledged the retirement of Cristiano Ronaldo from international football. Pedro Proença, the president of the federation, issued an emotional tribute to the Al Nassr star, praising his historic legacy as the player with the most appearances and the highest number of goals for the national team. Proença highlighted Ronaldo's influence as a global ambassador for Portugal, noting that his impact extended far beyond the pitch.

Proença emphasized that Ronaldo remains a vital figure for the organization, stating, "Cristiano Ronaldo will continue to be more than just a player for Portugal; he is a man, an athlete, an example, a champion, and a captain. He is our captain." The federation president expressed his gratitude for the support and close relationship he shared with the player over the past 18 months, confirming that the doors of the federation will always remain open to him.
