Rams Wide Receiver Puka Nacua Exits Practice With Calf Injury

Los Angeles faces further offensive hurdles as star pass catcher Puka Nacua is listed as a limited participant ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Los Angeles Rams star receiver Puka Nacua left Thursday's practice early due to a calf injury, casting uncertainty over his availability for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. A team official confirmed the departure, and Nacua was subsequently listed as a limited participant on the injury report.

The setback arrives immediately after the Rams received devastating news regarding veteran receiver Davante Adams, who is expected to miss six to 10 weeks due to a ruptured hamstring tendon. Head coach Sean McVay was anticipated to provide a formal update on Friday alongside the team's final injury designations for the weekend.

Nacua has already missed two games earlier in the season due to a groin and hip injury, limiting him to just four appearances so far. Despite the missed time, the All-Pro pass catcher has hauled in 37 receptions for 417 yards and a touchdown this year.

Operating with a 2-4 record, the Rams sit at the bottom of the NFC West and carry a two-game losing skid into their upcoming contest against the Raiders. The team suffered an 18-16 defeat to the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday and has struggled to meet high preseason expectations largely due to a mounting wave of injuries.

If Nacua is ultimately ruled out for Sunday, quarterback Matthew Stafford will be left with a severely depleted receiving corps. Beyond Nacua and Adams, the active options downfield are limited to Konata Mumpfield, Jordan Whittington, Tutu Atwell, and rookie CJ Daniels.

The offensive struggles compound broader roster challenges for Los Angeles, which has also dealt with extended absences across its defense. Key players including Myles Garrett, Trent McDuffie, Kobie Turner, and Poona Ford have all missed significant playing time due to various surgical procedures and physical ailments.
