Nigeria's under-17 women's national football team, known as the Flamingos, secured a commanding 3-1 victory over Brazil to advance to the final of the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in Morocco. The Nigerian squad delivered a standout performance to overcome their South American opponents and move within reach of the global title.

Following a scoreless first half, Queen Joseph broke the deadlock shortly after the break to put Nigeria ahead. The breakthrough shifted momentum in favor of the Flamingos, who continued to pressure the Brazilian defense as the second half progressed.

Awawu Bashiru further extended Nigeria's lead by scoring in the 71st minute. Bashiru then struck again in the 80th minute to complete her brace and put the match out of reach, bringing the score to 3-0.

Although Brazil managed to pull a goal back later in the match, the deficit proved too large to overcome. The final whistle confirmed a comfortable victory for the Nigerian youngsters, sealing their passage to the championship match.

With the semifinal victory behind them, the Flamingos are now set to face Japan in the final clash for the trophy. The Nigerian team will look to cap off their impressive tournament run with a victory and claim the prestigious global competition title.

In a separate international sports development, the women's ice hockey teams from the United States and Canada are preparing to wear generic uniforms at the upcoming world championships in Denmark due to an ongoing commercial rights dispute.
