The Nebraska basketball programs delivered impressive performances during their season openers on Monday at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. Both the men's and women's teams capitalized on home-court advantages to secure dominant victories against their respective opponents.

In the men's matchup, Fred Hoiberg's squad rolled past Le Moyne with a 106-64 victory. Pryce Sandfort led the Cornhuskers with 20 points, shooting 7 of 13 from the field while adding five rebounds. Cale Jacobsen also contributed significantly, notching a career-high 16 points and shooting 7 of 8 overall.

The men's team shot 54% from the field and made 13 of 30 three-point attempts, building a commanding 58-32 lead by halftime. Connor Essegian added 13 points in his return from injury, while Damon Wilkinson and Jacob Lanier chipped in 11 points apiece. Wilkinson went a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line as Nebraska extended its school record to 23 consecutive regular-season, non-conference wins.

Le Moyne was led by Trevor Roe, who scored 20 points including five three-pointers, and Jayden Teat, who added 14 points. Despite a brief 12-10 lead early in the first half, the Dolphins could not keep pace with the physical play and depth of the Cornhuskers, who played 14 different players.

Following the victory, the Nebraska men's team will hit the road to face Providence on Saturday in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut. Meanwhile, Le Moyne travels to play Creighton on Thursday.

Earlier on Monday, the Nebraska women's basketball team also started their season in stellar fashion, defeating San Jose State 81-54. Britt Prince ignited the home crowd with a game-high 23 points, knocking down four three-pointers while adding eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Amiah Hargrove added 15 points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Huskers, and Natalie Potts contributed 14 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes of action. The women's defense forced 32 turnovers and built a 44-31 rebounding edge, securing the program's eighth consecutive season-opening win and improving their all-time record in home season openers to 50-3.

The Nebraska women's team will look to continue their winning momentum on Saturday afternoon when they host Western Illinois at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
