The Miami Heat fell to a winless 0-3 record after suffering a 115-110 road loss against the Charlotte Hornets. Brandon Miller led the charge for Charlotte with 34 points, while Dennis Schroder contributed 25 points to help the Hornets improve their record to 2-1 early in the campaign.

Miami struggled significantly on both ends of the floor throughout the contest, falling into a steep 96-75 deficit heading into the fourth quarter. Although the Heat mounted a strong rally to draw level in the final period, they ultimately fell short of completing the comeback against the short-handed Hornets squad.

New Miami signing Giannis Antetokounmpo was restricted to just 14 points as the team continued to look for cohesion following a difficult opening stretch. The defeat marks the first time since the 2007-2008 season that the Miami franchise has lost all three of its opening games.

The ongoing struggles sparked visible frustration among players and supporters alike. WNBA superstar A'ja Wilson, attending the matchup courtside in support of her boyfriend Bam Adebayo, was captured by broadcast cameras looking stern and unimpressed as Miami fell behind by double digits in the first half.

Miami Herald writer Barry Jackson highlighted the deep statistical woes facing the roster through the early part of the season. According to Jackson's halftime reporting, Heat players accounted for three of the four worst plus-minuses across the league, while the team also faced mounting deficits on the boards.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra acknowledged the team's shortcomings after the final buzzer and stressed the need for a collective turnaround. "We need a lot more inspiration throughout the course of 48 minutes," Spoelstra said. "It's a powerful thing when you can inspire your teammate to make an extraordinary effort, and we will. We'll get there."

With the team searching for answers following consecutive losses with heavy margins, the coaching staff faces mounting pressure to address interior defense and rotation adjustments before their next regular-season matchup.
