The Kerala State Lottery Department officially announced the results for the Samrudhi SM-79 lottery draw. The lucky numbers were drawn on Sunday afternoon at Gorky Bhavan, located near Bakery Junction in Thiruvananthapuram.

The coveted first prize of ₹1 crore was awarded to ticket number MA 847261. Lottery officials noted that this grand prize is subject to a 30 percent tax deduction before disbursement.

In addition to the top award, the draw featured substantial secondary prizes. The second-place winner secured ₹25 lakh, while the third-place prize amounted to ₹5 lakh.

Participants who purchased tickets for this draw are instructed to carefully verify their numbers against the official results published in the Kerala Government Gazette.

According to guidelines from the Kerala State Lotteries Department, all prize claims must be formally submitted within 30 days of the draw date. Winners holding first and second-place tickets are required to surrender their physical tickets either in person or through insured registered post directly to the Director of State Lotteries.

Alternatively, claimants can submit their winning tickets and necessary paperwork through nationalized, scheduled, state, or district co-operative banks. Individuals must also provide valid government identification, such as an Aadhaar card or PAN card, when submitting their tickets.

Meanwhile, separate administrative concerns have emerged regarding lottery ticket distribution. An agency owner in Cherumoodu, Kollam district, lodged a formal complaint after discovering two identical tickets bearing the exact same serial and ticket number, SE817746.

The affected agent, who operates Akhila Lottery Agency, received the duplicate numbered tickets from the Kollam District Lottery Office on Friday. The issue came to light when the owner was organizing the billing process for retailers, prompting an official inquiry into how the identical tickets were issued.
