Jan Hofer, the former chief news anchor of the prominent German news program Tagesschau and a former host of the television talk show Riverboat, has been announced as a featured guest for an upcoming episode. The broadcast is scheduled to air on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 10:00 PM on the regional television network MDR.

Riverboat, which has maintained a presence in German broadcasting for over thirty years since its inception in 1992, remains a staple of late-night television. Originally launched under the title MDR-Club before adopting its current name in 1994, the program is produced in Leipzig at the Media City studios. It is widely recognized for combining prominent figures, musical performances, and regional stories.

For the October 23 episode, the hosting duties will be handled by primary host Kim Fisher alongside guest co-host Matze Knop. Fisher, who has hosted the program since 2014 after making her first appearance in 1998, rotates through several co-hosts throughout the season, including Joachim Llambi, Klaus Brinkbäumer, and Wolfgang Lippert.

Hofer joins a varied roster of guests assembled for the broadcast. The lineup features actor Matthias Koeberlin, former professional soccer player, television expert, and author Christoph Kramer, and singer and television host Bernhard Brink.

Rounding out the evening's list of notable figures are actress Marijam Agischewa, wood sculptor Markus Völlmer, and the 78th German Wine Queen, Paula Löber. The diverse backgrounds of the invited guests reflect the traditional format of the program, which frequently pairs public figures from entertainment and sports with cultural representatives.

Viewers who miss the initial broadcast on linear television can access the episode through the ARD Mediathek streaming platform shortly after its premiere. Additional delayed broadcast times are scheduled on MDR over the weekend following the initial airing.
