Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and television journalist Nidhi Razdan formalized their relationship by sharing photographs from their wedding ceremony on social media. The couple announced the news on Saturday, with Abdullah posting on X that "a new journey began yesterday." Razdan shared the same set of images on her personal social media accounts with the caption "It’s done, bro."

According to sources, the marriage was solemnized under the Special Marriage Act in New Delhi on Friday. The private ceremony and subsequent wedding functions held in Srinagar and New Delhi were attended by family members and close relatives from both sides.

Among those present at the celebrations were Abdullah’s parents, Farooq Abdullah and Mollie, along with his three sisters. Nidhi Razdan’s parents, veteran journalist M.K. Razdan and Sarla Razdan, also attended the nuptial events to support the couple.

The wedding follows the dissolution of Abdullah's previous marriage. The 56-year-old politician's marriage to his first wife, Payal, was legally dissolved by an order of the Supreme Court in July following a settlement reached by the parties after years of legal proceedings.

This marks the second marriage for 49-year-old Nidhi Razdan as well. The wedding announcement drew widespread public attention and numerous congratulatory messages from political figures across the country.

Prominent political leaders took to social media to extend their best wishes to the newlywed couple. Congress lawmaker Shashi Tharoor posted congratulations calling it wonderful news, while BJP Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi also shared public messages wishing them a long and happy marital life.
