Hyundai Unveils Elantra N Monochrome for Mature Buyers
The new variant drops external red accents and adds sophisticated styling touches, though U.S. availability remains unconfirmed.
Hyundai has introduced a new, more subdued variant of its popular sport compact sedan, known as the Elantra N Monochrome. Designed to offer a classier aesthetic for drivers who prefer a less aggressive look, the new model replaces the bright red exterior trim of the standard version with sophisticated black and carbon-fiber elements.
The Monochrome edition removes the red exterior accents entirely and features newly designed black-painted forged wheels that resemble components from higher-end luxury vehicles. Additionally, Hyundai has incorporated subtle styling updates to the front and rear fascias, side skirts, and brake calipers.
Buyers will be able to select from two exterior colors, Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue, depending on regional availability. For those choosing the additional Upper Trim option, the vehicle comes equipped with carbon-fiber mirror caps and a rear spoiler, while the interior receives an upgrade with Alcantara steering wheel wrapping and refined black buttons.
At present, the automaker plans to launch the Elantra N Monochrome exclusively in Korea, Canada, and Australia, with South Korean sales slated to begin in late October. However, the company has indicated that it intends to expand the vehicle to other global markets, leaving open the possibility of a future U.S. release.
The introduction of the Monochrome option arrives near the end of the current vehicle generation's lifecycle. While camouflaged prototypes of the next-generation N version have already been sighted, the new variant aims to broaden the car's appeal to a wider audience before the redesign takes over.
In the American market, the standard Hyundai Elantra N currently starts at $36,595, including destination charges. The standard model will remain available alongside the new Monochrome version, giving buyers a choice between the high-visibility traditional styling and the updated, mature look.
