The Carolina Hurricanes will host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, with the Metropolitan Division matchup broadcast on the Hurricanes Hockey Network and Blue Jackets Hockey Network.

Carolina enters the contest sitting near the top of the league standings with a 10-2-2 record and 22 points. The Hurricanes return home following a 2-1 victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour's squad has put together a dominant stretch over the past year, boasting a 37-8-3 record across their last 48 games dating back to the previous season.

Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov is projected to start in goal for Carolina, bringing an 8-0-0 record into the matchup. Kochetkov stands on the verge of franchise history, needing one more victory to secure the best winning streak to start a season by a Hurricanes goaltender.

The Columbus Blue Jackets arrive in Raleigh looking to build momentum after securing consecutive overtime victories against the Vegas Golden Knights and the Philadelphia Flyers. Columbus holds a 5-5-0 record and 10 points through their first 10 games of the campaign.

Columbus is led offensively by Kent Johnson, who paces the team with 10 points, including a team-high six goals. Meanwhile, Carolina features a balanced attack led by Sebastian Aho and Logan Stankoven with eight goals each, with Aho leading the team overall with 19 points.

Special teams could play a significant factor in Thursday's contest. Carolina enters the game with a power-play success rate of 23.5 percent, ranking 10th in the league, alongside an 83.3 percent penalty kill. Columbus looks to improve on special teams, holding an 11.1 percent conversion rate on the power play and a 72.7 percent penalty kill.

Both squads continue to manage roster adjustments due to injuries. The Hurricanes remain without forward Taylor Hall, who coach Rod Brind'Amour stated will miss his seventh consecutive game and likely another couple of weeks after leaving the morning skate early on Tuesday. Forward Jordan Staal is also sidelined with a calf injury. The Blue Jackets are playing without injured players including Ivan Provorov and Isac Lundestrom, while Danton Heinen is expected to draw back into the lineup after serving as a healthy scratch.
