Helene Fischer Announces New Album "Wir" and Return of Christmas Show

German singer Helene Fischer surprised fans during the tenth-anniversary edition of the Schlagerbooom show at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund by debuting a new look and announcing her upcoming studio album. Trading her signature waist-length hair for a stylish, shoulder-length longbob with soft waves and a deep side part, the 42-year-old artist performed her brand-new single titled "Warum."

When pressed by host and ex-partner Florian Silbereisen about future music releases, Fischer revealed that her next record will be called "Wir" and is scheduled for release on December 4, 2026. Describing the direction of the upcoming tracks, Fischer explained that the songs will allow listeners to party again while also delivering emotional, human, and slightly provocative themes.

Alongside her musical announcements, anticipation is building for the return of "The Helene Fischer Show." Following a hiatus in 2025 during which the singer welcomed her second child and dedicated time to her family, the popular holiday program is set to return to television. The special is a co-production by ZDF, ORF, and SRF.

The television event will be recorded in front of a live audience on October 30 and 31, 2026, at Messehalle 6 in Messe Düsseldorf. Limited tickets for the two recording dates have been made available exclusively through Ticketmaster.

Broadcasters have scheduled the official television broadcast for Friday, December 25, 2026, at 8:15 PM CET on ZDF, with streaming options available via the networks' media libraries.

Producers have already confirmed several prominent musical acts and personalities who will join Fischer on stage for the holiday comeback. The initial guest lineup features Roland Kaiser, Kerstin Ott, the Graf from Unheilig, Giovanni Zarrella, Wincent Weiss, Nina Chuba, and comedian Carolin Kebekus.

The diverse roster combines established schlager icons, modern pop voices, and comedy, keeping with the tradition of previous iterations of the holiday broadcast. Additional guest appearances and surprise duets are expected to be announced ahead of the late October tape dates.
