The beginning of November brought a wave of varied local schedules, regional holiday observances, and financial adjustments across different countries. While many citizens returned to work or school following the weekend, various regions implemented extended breaks, special banking schedules, and unique community events.

In Spain, the official national holiday for All Saints' Day fell on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Because the date coincided with a weekend, nine autonomous communities—Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Canary Islands, Castile and León, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Madrid, and Navarre—chose to shift the official day off to Monday, November 2, creating a three-day long weekend for residents. Meanwhile, other regions such as Cantabria, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Galicia, the Balearic Islands, La Rioja, Murcia, the Basque Country, Ceuta, and Melilla maintained their standard working schedules without a transferred holiday.

In Mexico, the financial sector adjusted operations for the Día de Muertos celebrations. According to the National Banking and Securities Commission, the official banking calendar marked Monday, November 2, as a non-business day for most supervised financial institutions, causing temporary closures. However, select institutions with extended service models, such as Banco Azteca and BanCoppel, maintained regular operations to serve customers throughout the holiday.

In Peru, the government clarified that Monday, November 2, remained a normal working day for the public and private sectors, as the country did not designate the date as an extraordinary national holiday or non-working day following the Sunday observance. The Instituto Geofísico del Perú reported a seismic event on the morning of November 2, recording a 5.0 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter located 73 kilometers west of Huarmey in the Ancash region, registering an intensity of III-IV in Huarmey.

Looking further into the month, Peru's official calendar also outlines upcoming adjustments related to the scheduled visit of Pope Leo XIV. These special provisions include partial and full non-working days in regions such as Lima, Callao, Cajamarca, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Piura, Cusco, and Ucayali throughout mid-November.

As communities navigate the post-weekend routine, public agencies and financial institutions continue to advise residents to verify specific local regulations, transit adjustments, and branch availability to minimize disruptions during the holiday season.
