Georgia Tech Faces Pittsburgh in Crucial ACC Matchup

The Yellow Jackets travel to Acrisure Stadium to take on a Panthers squad trying to snap a three-game skid.

Georgia Tech hits the road to face Pittsburgh on Saturday, October 31, at Acrisure Stadium. The game is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN2, with streaming options available on platforms like Fubo, DIRECTV, and ESPN+.

Both teams enter the contest looking to reverse recent fortunes. Pittsburgh opened the 2026 campaign with five straight wins but has since dropped three consecutive games this month to North Carolina, Boston College, and Miami. The Panthers' offensive struggles coincided with a season-ending injury to star starting quarterback Mason Heintschel.

Despite the absence of Heintschel, Pittsburgh's offense has continued to produce yards, putting up at least 360 total yards in each of their last three matchups. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech comes into the game with a 2-5 record and is searching for stability. Head coach Brent Key noted the team's defensive alignments and communication struggles following a recent home loss to Boston College.

Georgia Tech's offense will face a formidable test against Pittsburgh's defensive front, which boasts the nation's second-ranked rushing defense. Offensive lineman Josh Petty emphasized the physical challenge ahead, stating, "Number one run defense in the ACC. They're playing their a** off right now. But, you know, we want to go take it to them." Protecting quarterback Alberto Mendoza and generating production through the air against the Panthers' vulnerable secondary will be key focal points for the Yellow Jackets.

Historically, the matchup carries recent memories for Georgia Tech, as Key secured his first win as interim head coach in a road upset over a ranked Panthers team four years ago. However, ESPN's Football Power Index currently lists the Yellow Jackets as significant underdogs, giving them a 15.9 percent chance of securing a victory on the road.

As both programs look to right the ship in the second half of the season, Saturday night's contest offers a vital opportunity for either side to gain momentum within the Atlantic Coast Conference.
