A fundraising campaign for a Michigan grocery store delivery worker has raised more than $450,000 following a viral social media incident in which he was harassed by a prankster. The employee, identified online as Walt Z., works for frozen pizza manufacturer Red Baron and was accosted while stocking products at a store in August.

The approximately two-minute video shows an unseen individual approaching the worker and asking for the time. As Walt Z. takes out his mobile phone, the prankster plays a pre-recorded audio clip mimicking an Apple Pay transaction and falsely claims to have stolen ten dollars from him. Although the employee initially responds calmly, stating he will report the individual, the situation escalates when the interaction moves to a checkout counter.

During the confrontation, the worker becomes increasingly frustrated and agitated as the prankster continues to needle him. In the footage, Walt Z. explains that he is struggling to pay his mortgage, is trying to support four children, and is exhausted from a demanding work schedule that left him an hour late getting home. "Life is hard enough as it is," he says in the video. "I don't need this crap."

The video was originally shared on Instagram by an account operating under the handle @thea.ctiveworld, also known as Three Of A Kind, before being deleted amid heavy backlash. The clip quickly spread across multiple social media platforms, garnering millions of views and sparking intense criticism of online prank culture from viewers and public figures alike.

In response to the incident, an Arizona man named Luke Oakenshield launched a GoFundMe campaign to provide financial breathing room for the worker and his family. By Friday morning, donations had surpassed $450,000 from more than 13,000 individual contributions. A spokesperson for GoFundMe confirmed that the organization is working directly with the organizer to ensure the funds reach the family safely.

Oakenshield shared an update indicating that the worker is "absolutely blown away by how much people have cared over this" while requesting privacy as the situation unfolds. Representatives for Schwan's, the Minnesota-based parent company of Red Baron, confirmed that Walt Z. is a direct store delivery employee and stated that they have connected with him to offer full support.

Red Baron also addressed the incident on social media, posting a graphic that humorously noted employee of the month nominations were closed because "he's still here. He's got a fan club. Including us." The company's backing and the overwhelming public response have been widely praised by online commentators and lawmakers, turning a moment of workplace harassment into a widespread display of solidarity.
