Fortnite Launches Treasure Hunters Mini-Season Featuring One Piece and Pirate Tokens
The new update introduces beloved anime characters, special in-game rewards, and rare chances to access a free item shop.
Epic Games has launched its latest Fortnite update, introducing the Treasure Hunters mini-season alongside an exciting collaboration with the popular anime franchise One Piece. Running through November, the update brings a brand-new battle royale theme centered around treasure hunting, buried chests, and unique collectible items across the island.
The Fortnite Treasure Hunters Battle Pass features a mix of original designs and anime-inspired characters, highlighting fan favorites Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin. Players will also encounter classic characters with new anime appearances, such as Anime Jonesy, Anime Charlotte, and Anime Cuddle Team Leader. Additionally, players who gift the battle pass to a friend will unlock the exclusive Dark Kawaii Team Leader outfit for both themselves and the recipient.
Beyond the battle pass, several other members of the Straw Hat Pirates are rolling out through the Item Shop throughout November. Monkey D. Luffy, Nami, and Usopp became available on November 1, followed by Zoro, Sanji, and Chopper on November 7, with Buggy scheduled to launch on November 13.
The new mini-season also introduces 33 new Sprites to the battle royale, featuring 11 base characters along with Fortune and Cursed variants. Players can track down Wanted Posters scattered across the map, which transform into treasure maps leading to buried Sprite chests. Mastering these Sprites allows players to earn rewards such as Lucky Locators and Golden Fireworks under the Treasure tab in the lobby.
One of the most talked-about features of the update is the introduction of Pirate Tokens, which offer a rare chance to access a Pirate Shop where in-game items can be claimed for free. When opening standard loot chests during matches, players have a very low probability of discovering a Pirate Token. If playing in a squad, if one team member uncovers a token, all members of the squad receive the reward as well.
When activated, the Pirate Shop allows players to claim skins, emotes, cosmetics, and other rotating items without spending V-Bucks for a period of 14 days. Certain items, such as real-money bundles, player gifts, battle pass levels, and specific sidekicks, remain excluded from the promotion. According to reports from the community, players may receive tokens with redemption windows spanning into late 2027, though Epic Games has yet to officially confirm all specific drop rates and mechanics for the token rewards.
