The Kern County District Attorney’s Office announced that a criminal complaint has been filed against former YouTuber Bryant Turhanemmerson Moreland, widely known online as EDP445. The charges follow an extensive investigation into recent statements made by Moreland.

On November 2, 2026, felony charges were officially filed against Moreland. The allegations include attempting to commit lewd acts upon a child, meeting a minor for lewd purposes, contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, and distributing or showing pornography to a minor.

According to the District Attorney's Office, the charges stem from an alleged incident involving a child under the age of 14 that took place on April 17, 2021. Authorities initially reviewed the case in 2021 and 2022, but faced significant obstacles in pursuing prosecution at the time, particularly due to a lack of cooperation from reporting parties.

The trajectory of the case shifted following statements Moreland made in a documentary titled "The Sick Mind of EDP445." Prompted by the new evidence and statements featured in the film, the Kern County District Attorney's Office and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office decided to reopen the investigation.

After reviewing the newly gathered material, prosecutors determined that the evidentiary threshold required to file formal criminal charges had successfully been met. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued, triggering coordinated efforts to locate the former content creator.

On November 4, 2026, law enforcement officials tracked Moreland down in Las Vegas. With the assistance of the Las Vegas Police Department, he was apprehended and taken into custody without incident.

Authorities are currently preparing for Moreland's extradition back to California. Once he is returned to Kern County, an arraignment hearing will be formally scheduled before the court to address the felony charges.
