Former Bachelor Star Melissa Rycroft Arrested for Second DWI
The television personality and dancer was booked in Tarrant County just months after pleading guilty to her first driving while intoxicated charge.
Former reality television star and Dancing with the Stars champion Melissa Rycroft was arrested and booked into the Tarrant County jail on charges of driving while intoxicated. According to jail records and reports, the incident occurred on November 1, 2026, marking her second arrest for the offense in recent years.
In addition to the driving while intoxicated charge, Rycroft faces allegations of driving with an invalid license due to a prior conviction or suspension without financial responsibility. Authorities also charged her in connection with a vehicle collision that reportedly caused under $200 in property damage.
The latest legal trouble comes less than three months after Rycroft pleaded guilty in August 2026 to a previous DWI charge stemming from a September 2025 arrest. For that prior offense, she was handed a 20-month probation term, ordered to pay roughly $2,000 in fines and court costs, and required to complete 36 hours of community service.
As part of the conditions for her previous probation, the television personality was mandated to complete a DWI education course, undergo a substance abuse evaluation, and strictly abstain from consuming alcohol or taking prohibited drugs. Her swift return to headlines due to another arrest has drawn significant public attention to the ongoing case.
Rycroft first rose to national prominence as a contestant on the thirteenth season of ABC's The Bachelor, where she was initially chosen in the finale by Jason Mesnick before he called off their engagement. She later appeared on and won Dancing with the Stars, and built a career hosting reality competition programs such as Bachelor Pad and Redneck Island.
Before her television career, Rycroft graduated from the University of North Texas and cheered professionally for the Dallas Cowboys from 2006 to 2008. She eventually transitioned away from the squad to pursue media opportunities, though she maintained ties to the organization as a mentor and audition judge.
Following the end of her engagement with Mesnick, Rycroft married her former boyfriend, Tye Strickland, in 2009. The couple shares three children together: Ava Grace, Beckett Thomas, and Cayson Jack. Legal proceedings regarding her latest arrest are currently developing as authorities await further details.
