The Indian Super League features a high-stakes matchup as defending champions East Bengal prepare to face Inter Kashi in Pune. East Bengal enters the fixture looking to maintain momentum in their ongoing title defense, following a commanding 4-0 victory over Churchill Brothers where substitute Bipin Singh scored twice.

Bipin expressed confidence ahead of the game, noting that his recent performance provided a major boost. "Scoring the brace in the last match was definitely a huge confidence boost for me. We're navigating a very hectic schedule, but as professionals, we adapt and move forward. Our full focus is on competing and succeeding across both the MG ISL and the ACL Two," he stated.

The fixture also brings a compelling storyline involving East Bengal head coach Antonio López Habas, who previously helped Inter Kashi enter the league. Despite his history with the club, Habas remains focused entirely on his current squad's success.

"We've built a strong squad where anyone can step up and deliver when it counts. Winning championships requires that kind of versatility and adaptability," Habas remarked regarding his team's depth and competitive mindset.

Inter Kashi approaches the contest displaying considerable resilience. In their previous outing against Odisha FC, the team fought back from a deficit when Thoi Singh Huidrom scored a stunning equalizer to secure a valuable point.

Inter Kashi head coach Carlos Vaz Pinto emphasized that his squad will maintain its tactical philosophy despite facing the reigning champions. Pinto stated, "I cannot change my idea of the game because of the opponent that we are facing. Maybe it will be a bit more difficult to play the way we want, but our approach will be the same."

Pinto added that altering their game plan out of respect for an opponent would prove counterproductive. "I believe we can win this match and I believe in what we are trying to build here. We know where we are, but also where we want to be, so we cannot think differently for one game just because of one opponent," he explained.

This encounter brings back memories of last season's dramatic finale, where East Bengal secured a 2-1 comeback victory over Inter Kashi in Kolkata to claim the top-flight title after a 22-year drought. As the two sides meet again, Inter Kashi aims to rewrite the narrative on unfamiliar ground.
