Dallas Cowboys Defeat Philadelphia Eagles Behind Strong Offensive Outing
The Dallas Cowboys secured a 38-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, powered by a dominant rushing performance and key passing plays.
The Dallas Cowboys secured a 38-21 road victory against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, driven by a dominant offensive performance that featured 204 rushing yards. The win improved Dallas's standing as the team looks to build momentum following an underperforming start to the NFL season.
Running back Javonte Williams led the charge for the Cowboys with a career-high 155 rushing yards on a career-high number of carries, sealing the game with a late touchdown. According to NFL Research, Williams posted the highest rushing yardage total for a Dallas player since Ezekiel Elliott recorded 159 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 15 of the 2016 season.
Quarterback Dak Prescott efficiently orchestrated the offense, completing passes to keep star playmakers involved. Prescott connected with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb for a touchdown in the first quarter, giving Dallas an early spark in the red zone. Lamb beat Eagles defensive back Cooper DeJean in the end zone to secure the score, contributing to his team-leading first-half receiving performance.
The matchup also highlighted a difficult statistical trend for DeJean on defense. According to NFL Next Gen Stats data reported during the broadcast, DeJean has allowed four receiving touchdowns on 40 targets this season, following a stretch in 2024 and 2025 where he allowed only one touchdown across 125 combined targets.
Despite missing several players on offense, the Eagles fielded most of their starting defensive unit, including Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Quinyon Mitchell. However, Philadelphia struggled to contain the Cowboys' rushing attack and defensive pressure.
Looking ahead, the victorious Cowboys will return home to host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8. Kickoff is scheduled for November 1 at 1 p.m. ET as Dallas attempts to extend its winning momentum.
