Como secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Venezia in round 10 of the Italian Serie A at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. The decisive moment of the match arrived late in the first half when Lucas Da Cunha successfully converted a penalty kick in the 42nd minute, breaking the scoreless deadlock for the hosts.

The lone goal capped off an influential performance by Da Cunha, who earned recognition as the top player of the match. Aside from his successful spot-kick, the midfielder actively tested the visiting defense with multiple attempts on goal. Teammate Martin Baturina also anchored Como's offensive pressure, contributing heavily with five shots toward the opposition net throughout the afternoon.

Managed by Francesc Fàbregas Soler, Como lined up in a 4-5-1 formation, controlling the tempo and maintaining the majority of possession. Meanwhile, Venezia manager Davide Nicola deployed a 3-5-2 strategy, looking to exploit counterattacking opportunities and absorb pressure from the home side. Despite Venezia's defensive setup, Como's disciplined midfield structure stifled most visiting attacks before they reached dangerous areas.

The hard-earned three points elevate Como to fourth place in the Serie A standings, bringing their season total to 23 points. Conversely, Venezia remains rooted at the bottom of the table in twentieth place with three points, continuing a difficult run of form in the Italian top-flight campaign.

Entering the contest, Como head coach Cesc Fàbregas had warned that Venezia posed a greater threat than their league position suggested. Pointing to Venezia's previous competitive encounters against top-tier Italian opponents, Fàbregas noted that the visitors consistently create scoring chances and can easily punish lapses in concentration.

Looking ahead to the upcoming fixtures in the Italian championship, Como will hit the road to face Inter Milan. Meanwhile, Venezia will return home to host Udinese as both clubs attempt to achieve their respective objectives for the remainder of the Serie A season.
