Following the conclusion of a trial that resulted in Russell Brand being found guilty of rape and sexual assault, multiple public figures have stepped forward to recount past incidents involving the comedian and actor. The trial addressed defense arguments claiming that a 2023 Channel 4 Dispatches documentary had prompted false allegations and unfairly criticized victims for coming forward years after the initial events.

Among those reflecting on past interactions is television personality Vanessa Feltz, who shared that she was left horrified during a television interview in 2006. According to Feltz, Brand stated during the appearance that he wanted to have sex with her and her two daughters, one of whom was 15 years old at the time. "I was deeply offended then, as I remain deeply offended now," Feltz said.

Lorraine Kelly also discussed an uncomfortable encounter from her appearance with Brand on The Graham Norton Show in 2007. Footage from the program showed Brand touching her leg and making crude remarks. Kelly noted that while she laughed at the time in the context of an entertainment show, the interaction made her uncomfortable and she questioned whether such behavior would be tolerated or aired today.

Other prominent figures had previously denounced Brand's behavior long before the recent legal proceedings. Singer Dannii Minogue characterized him as a vile predator following an appearance on his MTV chat show in 2006, stating that he would not take no for an answer. Katy Perry, who was married to Brand from 2010 to 2012, described him to Vogue in 2013 as very controlling and hurtful regarding her career and touring status.

Comedian Katherine Ryan also addressed Brand's conduct publicly. During the filming of Comedy Central's Roast Battle in 2023, Ryan reportedly called Brand a sexual predator directly to his face in front of an audience, though the remarks were edited out of the final broadcast. Comedian Daniel Sloss, who appeared in the Dispatches documentary, stated that numerous stories regarding Brand had circulated widely across the comedy circuit for years, noting that female comedians had established groups specifically to warn one another about individuals in the industry.

The recent verdict and the subsequent recollections from peers highlight a long-standing pattern of criticism regarding Brand's professional conduct and personal behavior, with many colleagues reflecting on the changing standards around accountability in the entertainment industry.
