A 75-year-old man lost his life on Thursday afternoon, November 5, after falling from a tree while harvesting olives in the locality of Dossi, within the Pratosaiano area of Arco, Italy. The victim was identified as local resident Aurelio Zanoni.

Zanoni was working in his family's olive grove when the fatal incident occurred. According to authorities, he fell from the tree, or from a ladder he had used to reach the branches, and struck his head on the ground.

Emergency services responded rapidly following calls to the dispatch center. A medical helicopter was dispatched from Trento alongside personnel from Trentino Emergenza and local volunteer firefighters from Arco, arriving at the scene shortly after the accident was reported around 5:00 p.m.

Medical personnel attempted prolonged resuscitation efforts at the site, but all attempts proved unsuccessful. The attending physician ultimately pronounced the man dead at the scene. Law enforcement officers also arrived to conduct the necessary investigations, which reportedly confirmed the accidental nature of the tragic event.

Zanoni was widely known and well-liked throughout the community, affectionately recognized by many as the unofficial mayor of Prato Saiano due to his deep community involvement and active participation in local associations.

Local officials expressed profound sorrow over his passing. Massimiliano Floriani, the cultural assessor for the Municipality of Arco, paid tribute to Zanoni by stating that he dedicated his life to his land, his people, his family, and his grandchildren, displaying extraordinary commitment to social life with a quiet wisdom characteristic of those who work the land.

Floriani also highlighted Zanoni's dedication to creating a new neighborhood park in Pratosaiano, noting that Zanoni had strongly advocated for the project to fulfill a childhood dream. "Today, after several decades, that park is finished, and Aurelio was able to see his childhood dream come true," Floriani remarked.

Nicola Cattoi, a municipal councilor, added that Zanoni's absence leaves a significant void in the community. Cattoi remembered him as a generous person with a big heart, always ready to lend a hand, leaving behind memories of an attentive gaze and a sincere smile.
