The television presenter abruptly left her show on TEN and faced differing accounts from her production team regarding her departure.

Television presenter and model Alba Carrillo abruptly exited the live broadcast of the TEN network show 'El Sótano Club' on Thursday, October 15, 2026, marking a tumultuous end to her tenure on the program. During a discussion on the air, Carrillo noticed a forgotten mobile phone, became visibly emotional, and walked off the set without giving prior notice to the direction team, forcing her colleagues to quickly take over the broadcast.

The unexpected exit sparked a public back-and-forth between Carrillo, the production company Dollhouse, and the TEN network. A joint statement released by the production company and the channel detailed that Carrillo had communicated her resignation on October 14, with her final appearance scheduled for October 16. However, her sudden mid-broadcast departure left the presentation, production, and realization teams with no margin to manage the situation.

The network and production company decided to cancel the scheduled broadcast for Friday, October 16. The official statement explained that this drastic step was necessary 'to protect the team and guarantee the normal development of production,' acknowledging the human, organizational, and economic consequences of the choice. They added that while leaving a project is a legitimate decision, they strongly rejected the manner in which it was handled.

Carrillo later clarified her reasons during an event for the new channel La Séptima, citing professional incompatibilities, her new responsibilities, and her desire not to work with certain individuals, specifically mentioning former co-host Marta Riesco. 'There are times when you have to swallow things because my directors decided that, and I've had to swallow it. I also have the freedom to decide who I want to work with,' Carrillo stated.

Former colleagues from 'El Sótano Club' pushed back against some of Carrillo's assertions. Marta Riesco read the production's statement on air and later told media outlets that what Carrillo claimed regarding her was untrue, expressing shock alongside her fellow cast members. Other colleagues, such as Alberto Guzmán and Anna Gurgui, also weighed in, addressing personal disputes like social media blockings and defending Riesco's professional reputation against recent criticism.

Aside from the tension surrounding her exit from TEN, Carrillo has also addressed legal matters involving her ex-husband, Feliciano López. Responding to reports of a lawsuit filed by the former tennis player for alleged violations of his right to honor and privacy, Carrillo maintained a firm stance. 'I didn't speak badly of you, I spoke about what you did to me. If that makes you look bad, that is no longer my problem,' she asserted.

Carrillo's television career now pivots toward her upcoming project on La Séptima titled 'Fuera de control,' which she will co-host alongside Marta Márquez ahead of the network's official launch. Meanwhile, the production team of 'El Sótano' thanked Carrillo for her months of work on the program and wished her the best in her future endeavors as they moved past the abrupt conclusion of her time on the show.
