Ultraviolette Launches X47 Venom Electric Motorcycle in India Starting at Rs 2.65 Lakh
The new high-performance electric motorcycle introduces the VX-100 platform and promises an IDC range of up to 343 kilometers.
Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive launched the X47 Venom in India at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 2.65 lakh. The vehicle serves as the first production motorcycle built on the company's new VX-100 platform, a 100-volt architecture designed to support a broader expansion of electric motorcycles and scooters over the coming year.
The introductory pricing applies specifically to the first 5,000 customers, with bookings opening at 4:00 PM and deliveries scheduled to begin in November. After the initial units are sold, the standard starting price will adjust to Rs 3 lakh. Additionally, the motorcycle is slated for presentation in Europe on November 3 at the EICMA event in Milan, Italy.
Underpinning the new model is the SRB-11 battery pack, which provides 11 kWh of usable capacity and supports a claimed Indian Driving Cycle range of 343 kilometers. The vehicle is also available with a 7.5 kWh battery configuration delivering a 227-kilometer range. The proprietary Light Fury motor generates 39.5 brake horsepower alongside 550 Nm of torque at the wheel, enabling acceleration from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 155 kilometers per hour.
The structural redesign of the VX-100 architecture yields significant weight savings. The X47 Venom weighs 180 kilograms in its 7.5 kWh configuration and 195 kilograms with the 11 kWh battery, reflecting a reduction of up to 20 kilograms compared to previous models. The platform incorporates axial cooling, which doubles cooling performance, and supports DC fast charging up to 12 kW.
Safety features include an integrated pyro-fuse designed to isolate the battery circuit within microseconds during a critical fault, alongside an IP67-rated enclosure to protect against dust and water. The motorcycle also features the UV Hypersense system, utilizing a 77 GHz rear radar with a monitoring range of up to 200 meters to provide blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, overtake alerts, and rear collision warnings.
For connectivity and rider assistance, the X47 Venom includes a 7-inch TFT touchscreen equipped with Mappls navigation, front and rear cameras, park assist, cruise control, and VIOLETTE AI alerts for movement, falls, towing, and crashes. Ultraviolette also introduced an extendable warranty program covering up to 800,000 kilometers.
Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Niraj Rajmohan noted that the VX-100 platform will form the foundation for four new products across the next 12 months, including the upcoming Tesseract electric scooter and Shockwave lightweight motorcycle. Ultraviolette is currently scaling its manufacturing capabilities, targeting a production run rate of 10,000 vehicles per month by October 2027 while expanding its national showroom network.
