Tucker Carlson Claims Trump May Face Decision on Nuclear Strike Against Iran

Conservative political commentator and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson claimed that the Trump administration could be days away from launching a nuclear strike on Iran. In posts shared on X, Carlson alleged that President Donald Trump might decide by November 7 whether to authorize an attack targeting a suspected nuclear enrichment facility located at Pickaxe Mountain in central Iran.

Carlson argued that the underground facility is shielded by an estimated 300 feet of solid granite, making it allegedly impenetrable to conventional United States weapons and leaving a nuclear strike as what he termed 'the only military option.' Satellite analysis published by the Center for Strategic and International Studies in September identified ongoing construction at the site but found no evidence establishing that uranium enrichment was actively taking place. Meanwhile, Tehran has denied any nuclear activity at Pickaxe Mountain.

According to Carlson, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been fiercely lobbying the White House for military action. Quoting an unnamed observer, Carlson stated, 'Bibi calls Trump about it every day.' He alleged that Netanyahu's push is driven by domestic political vulnerability following recent elections where his party fell short of a parliamentary majority, suggesting the Israeli leader needs US intervention to secure a governing majority and avoid potential investigations or imprisonment.

The commentary also pointed to alleged divisions within the upper echelons of the Trump administration. Carlson alleged that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper have favored restarting major combat operations, while Vice President JD Vance and special envoy Steve Witkoff have been urging the president to pursue diplomatic solutions and negotiate a peace deal with Tehran.

President Trump has previously discussed publicly that the United States could target remaining Iranian facilities very quickly, but he explicitly ruled out using nuclear weapons against Iran during an October interview with Newsmax, stating they were unnecessary. A White House official stated that the administration is keeping all options open to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, though officials declined to comment on sensitive military plans. Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that no final decision has been reached regarding military strikes.

Carlson warned that utilizing a nuclear weapon would carry catastrophic global and regional repercussions. He predicted that such an attack would inevitably trigger a broader global conflict, claiming Russia had indicated that an American nuclear strike would free it to deploy nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Furthermore, he warned of severe environmental and economic fallout, suggesting radioactive contamination could threaten drinking water supplies for roughly 100 million people across the Persian Gulf region.
