The Cast of 'The Rookie' Shows Support for Jenna Dewan on 'DWTS'
Nathan Fillion and other cast members recently surprised their co-star by attending a live recording of the dance competition series.
Cast members of the television series "The Rookie" have shown enthusiastic support for their co-star Jenna Dewan as she competes on the dance competition series "Dancing With the Stars." Dewan is currently participating in the 35th season of the ABC program while simultaneously filming the ninth season of her police drama series.
During an appearance at the New York Comic-Con on October 11, actor Nathan Fillion spoke about what it has been like watching Dewan perform weekly. He noted that the entire cast has rallied behind her throughout the competition.
"We all get very excited on Tuesdays," Fillion told TV Line in an Instagram video posted on October 20. "We all get really wound up on Wednesdays. The discussions—they get loud. We're all about it."
Prior to the live show, Fillion and showrunner Alexi Hawley hinted that fans could expect to see members of the production cheering Dewan on directly from the ballroom. Those words quickly materialized into reality during Dedication Night.
Footage shared on social media captured Fillion alongside fellow cast members Deric Augustine, Alyssa Diaz, Melissa O'Neil, Lisseth Chavez, and Shawn Ashmore arriving to support their colleague. Fans took to the comments section to express joy over the tight-knit camaraderie among the actors.
Viewers praised the supportive environment, with one fan commenting on social media about how priceless the expression was on Dewan's face when she spotted her colleagues in the audience. Others described the actors as a genuine family.
In addition to his ongoing television work, Fillion's past acting credits have occasionally intersected with discussions of other media properties. For instance, retrospective reviews of older video games like the 2007 BioWare title "Jade Empire" have reflected on his earlier voice acting roles in the gaming industry, though his recent focus remains heavily anchored in network television and supporting his current castmates.
