The Sevilla FC secured a vital 2-0 victory against CA Osasuna at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium, returning to winning ways in LaLiga EA Sports. Playing in front of their home supporters for the first time in 37 days, the squad managed by Luis García Plaza displayed character and defensive solidity to claim three crucial points that solidify their position in the upper half of the league table.

Entering the match from the sixth position in the standings, the home side was eager to rebound after a challenging stretch that included three consecutive matches without a win. Despite a demanding schedule earlier in the season that featured tough fixtures against top contenders like Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Real Madrid, the team maintained its strong standing in the tournament.

The breakthrough arrived through forward Isaac Romero, who returned to the starting lineup after serving a suspension during the previous fixture at the Santiago Bernabéu. Romero opened the scoring and was later recognized as the standout player of the match. Reflecting on his performance and his partnership on the pitch, Romero told Movistar LaLiga that he feels more comfortable operating alongside a teammate. "I always say it, I feel more comfortable when I have a teammate next to me. Today, like Lucas [Stassin], he helps me fight for balls," he stated.

Romero also praised the contribution of Youssouf Fofana in the build-up to the opening goal. "I'll take the assist. It was a good goal, half a goal from Fofa, who is always there ready to leave the ball in a good position," the striker remarked. Beyond the offensive output, the young forward highlighted the team's defensive focus, noting that keeping a clean sheet was a primary objective after conceding ten goals over their previous three games.

During the encounter, a controversial moment involving Osasuna defender Alejandro Catena drew attention. Catena, who had already received a yellow card, made a challenge that damaged Romero's boot and sock. Speaking in the mixed zone after the final whistle, Romero expressed a firm view on the incident: "He catches me with his studs, for me it is a second yellow card for Catena."

The visiting side, managed by Jagoba Arrasate, arrived in Andalusia looking to build momentum after breaking a five-match winless run with a 2-0 victory against Racing Club. Positioned initially in the lower half of the standings, Osasuna sought to narrow the gap with the European qualification spots, but ultimately fell short against a determined Sevilla defense.

The fixture also carried emotional resonance for the hosts, who marked the occasion six months after a dramatic encounter in Pamplona that had brought the club close to the relegation zone. Following a remarkable survival effort last season, the current campaign presents a starkly different panorama, with the team stabilizing under García Plaza's leadership and looking firmly toward higher aspirations.

With this latest triumph, Sevilla successfully defends its sixth place in LaLiga, reinforcing the progress of a project aiming to secure European competition berths by the end of the season. Both clubs will now turn their attention to the upcoming fixtures as the domestic campaign continues to unfold.
